Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
DJ LeMahieu (COL) | vs. LAD | 9 |
Daniel Murphy (WAS) | vs. MIN | 9 |
Ian Kinsler (DET) | vs. CLE | 8 |
Robinson Cano (SEA) | at LAA | 8 |
Neil Walker (NYM) | at ATL | 8 |
He won't typically hit for power, but as long as he's atop the Rockies' batting order, LeMahieu is in an excellent position to get on base and score some runs. Murphy has four multi-hit games in his last six and had the luxury of resting Saturday. He's a fresh option who has been delivering.
Kinsler is like clockwork. He's the best hitter in the Tigers lineup so far, and will be their primary run scorer. Indians RHP Carlos Carrasco is excellent, and will inspire many DFS owners to fade Kinsler. It's not often a player of his caliber will be contrarian, but here we are.
Keep tabs on Walker while he's hot. Before Saturday, he was 8-for-18 with three home runs in four games. Then he hit another home run in his fifth at-bat on Saturday. Cano's batting average is starting to normalize. He's worth considering every night.
Mid-Tier Targets
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Josh Harrison (PIT) | at ARI | 7 |
Jose Altuve (HOU) | vs. BOS | 7 |
Dee Gordon (MIA) | at SF | 7 |
Dustin Pedroia (BOS) | at HOU | 7 |
Jason Kipnis (CLE) | at DET | 6 |
Logan Forsythe (TB) | at NYY | 6 |
Joe Panik (SF) | vs. MIA | 6 |
Brandon Phillips (CIN) | vs. CHC | 6 |
Rougned Odor (TEX) | at CWS | 6 |
Ben Zobrist (CHC) | at CIN | 5 |
Brett Lawrie (CWS) | vs. TEX | 5 |
Jean Segura (ARI) | vs. PIT | 5 |
Jonathan Schoop (BAL) | at KC | 5 |
Altuve and Gordon are solid cash game plays because of their speed and ability to get on base. Both are a little pricey, especially Altuve, but will return value on the regular. Zobrist is a fine player, but he doesn't feature a powerful enough arsenal to warrant top dollar, even in Cincinnati's hitter-friendly ballpark.
Kipnis has a fairly steady floor, but his ceiling is limited because of his lack of power. Tigers RHP Shane Greene is a decent matchup for him, but don't expect a huge output. Forsythe, prior to Saturday's 0-for-4 performance, had returned significant value in four straight games, going 8-for-16 with four walks in the process. Hitting leadoff will bump his value, but he has always hit lefties better than righties. Temper expectations.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Kolten Wong (STL) | at SD | 4 |
Chase Utley (LAD) | at COL | 4 |
Brian Dozier (MIN) | at WAS | 4 |
Chris Coghlan (OAK) | at TOR | 3 |
Scooter Gennett (MIL) | vs. PHI | 3 |
Howie Kendrick (LAD) | at COL | 3 |
Starlin Castro (NYY) | vs. TB | 2 |
Wong moved into the leadoff position in the Cardinals order on Saturday to spell Carpenter. First, it didn't work. Second, Carpenter should be back Sunday. Wong's disappointing season will probably continue in a familiar way. Don't blindly roster Dodgers because they're playing in Colorado. Utley is a little better than Kendrick but neither are worth their salaries where inflated due to park factor.
