Dana White says McGregor's still off UFC 200

UFC president Dana White has denied that the promotion has agreed to a deal that would add Conor McGregor back to UFC 200, after the Irishman sent out a tweet announcing he'd been returned to the card.

"Not true," White wrote in a text to the Los Angeles Times. "We haven’t talked (to) Conor or his manager since the press conference. I don't know why he would tweet that."

McGregor was initially removed from the co-headliner against Nate Diaz by White due to his reluctance to attend any of the historic event's media obligations.

"The Notorious One" backed off comments indicating that he'd decided to retire, but said he would only return to UFC 200 if the promotion agreed to his terms, with McGregor saying he needed to focus on his training rather than promoting the event.

Both sides have appeared to leave the door open for McGregor to return, but with no deal apparently in place, it's unclear why the featherweight champion decided to tease the UFC world if there truly have been no talks between the two parties.
