NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Mark Trumbo (BAL) | vs. CWS | 10 |
Ryan Braun (MIL) | at CHC | 9 |
Gerardo Parra (COL) | vs. PIT | 9 |
Adam Eaton (CWS) | at BAL | 9 |
Bryce Harper (WAS) | vs. PHI | 8 |
Andrew McCutchen (PIT) | at COL | 8 |
Starling Marte (PIT) | at COL | 8 |
Gregory Polanco (PIT) | at COL | 8 |
Trumbo has yet to see a significant price jump despite leading the American League in hits as of Wednesday. He'll be facing middling left-hander John Danks, who has an ERA of 4.87 since 2012. Trumbo has a .838 OPS against lefties compared to a .736 OPS against righties in his career.
Braun also destroys southpaws, although Jon Lester is a much tougher nut to crack than Danks. Nonetheless, Braun's 1.030 OPS for his career against lefties cannot be ignored. He's hitting .373/.440/.657 with five home runs in the early going and has found some surprising protection in Milwaukee's lineup in the form of 1B Chris Carter.
Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Christian Yelich (MIA) | at LAD | 7 |
Coco Crisp (OAK) | at DET | 7 |
Mookie Betts (BOS) | vs. ATL | 7 |
Dexter Fowler (CHC) | vs. MIL | 7 |
Stephen Piscotty (STL) | at ARI | 7 |
Randal Grichuk (STL) | at ARI | 7 |
Odubel Herrera (PHI) | at WAS | 7 |
Jason Heyward (CHC) | vs. MIL | 6 |
Avisail Garcia (CWS) | at BAL | 6 |
J.D. Martinez (DET) | vs. OAK | 6 |
Matt Holliday (STL) | at ARI | 6 |
Yelich amazingly still has an OBP of .500 this late in the season. He's still a strong play in any format -- even with Kenta Maeda on the hill.
Garcia has been ice-cold to start the season, but his recent play gives the impression that he's breaking out of his slump. In the first two games of Chicago's series against Toronto, Garcia went 4-for-7 with three runs, one double, one home run, two RBIs and one walk. He'll get to face a very weak pitcher in Baltimore's Tyler Wilson.
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Yasmany Tomas (ARI) | vs. STL | 6 |
David Peralta (ARI) | vs. STL | 6 |
Josh Reddick (OAK) | at DET | 6 |
Billy Burns (OAK) | at DET | 6 |
Brandon Moss (STL) | at ARI | 6 |
Joey Rickard (BAL) | vs. CWS | 5 |
Joc Pederson (LAD) | vs. MIA | 5 |
Yasiel Puig (LAD) | vs. MIA | 5 |
Justin Upton (DET) | vs. OAK | 5 |
Giancarlo Stanton (MIA) | at LAD | 5 |
Austin Jackson (CWS) | at BAL | 5 |
Peralta and Tomas have done a swell job providing protection for Paul Goldschmidt. Tomas especially, looks much more comfortable at the dish in his second season. He's hitting .303/.349/.592 with five long balls and 12 driven in.
It's best to avoid Pederson and Puig in cash games with Jose Fernandez on the mound for the Marlins. They do still have GPP value because of the power each player possesses and Fernandez's mediocre stat line away from Marlins Park. He has a pedestrian 3.81 road ERA in his career.

NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Hanley Ramirez (BOS) | vs. ATL | 4 |
Ryan Raburn (COL) | vs. PIT | 4 |
Jayson Werth (WAS) | vs. PHI | 3 |
Jeremy Hazelbaker (STL) | at ARI | 3 |
Josh Reddick (OAK) | at DET | 3 |
Adam Jones (BAL) | vs. CWS | 3 |
Nick Markakis (ATL) | at BOS | 2 |
Raburn has a significant price bump because of his home ballpark, but DFSers need to remember that he's not a very good major league player. He has a career OPS of just .697 against right-handers. Don't be fooled by his early success.
