Report: D'Antoni, Wittman among potential Pacers coaching candidates

It didn't take long for the Indiana Pacers to open up their head coaching search after deciding against renewing Frank Vogel's contract on Thursday.

Mike D'Antoni, Randy Wittman, Mike Woodson, Brian Shaw, and Mark Jackson are among the possible candidates to replace Vogel, Candace Buckner of The Indianapolis Star reports.
D'Antoni is arguably the most intriguing of the five candidates, as he would almost certainly boost the Pacers' offense - an area of weakness president Larry Bird admitted was a reason for Vogel's dismissal.
Wittman is the only man on the list that served as a head coach in 2015-16, but he's never led even a league-average offense during his time with the Washington Wizards.
With several of the candidates already linked to other teams, Bird will likely need to work fast to land his preferred choice.
