Dana White: Fertitta brothers will own an NFL team

Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta aren't trying to purchase an NFL franchise just yet, but Dana White believes it's only a matter of time.

Earlier this week, White said there was no truth to rumors of a reported sale of the UFC, adding that his business partners were not actively pursuing ownership of the NFL's Oakland Raiders.

White acknowledged in an interview with Jim Rome on Friday, however, that the Fertitta brothers would definitely be interested in owning a franchise in the future.

"Here's the thing - as you know you can't own an NFL team if you're involved with casinos," said White, according to Damon Martin of FOX Sports. "So if they were really making a serious move at the Raiders, they'd be selling Station Casinos, not the UFC.

"But it is 100 percent a fact, they are hardcore football fans and I promise you one day the Fertitta brothers will own an NFL team. No doubt about it."

A rabid sports fan himself, White sees having an NFL team in Las Vegas with the Fertittas involved as a no-brainer.

"I think it's a home run," he said. "Growing up a Boston guy, there's nothing better than growing up with Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, Bruins fans, you're a fan of all these teams. We've never had that in Vegas.

"The one thing that I think Vegas lacks, and I think if the Raiders or any other NFL team came here, it would be huge."
