Here are theScore's second baseman value rankings for Monday, May 16 (all stats exclude Sunday's games):

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Jean Segura (ARI) vs. NYY 9
Rougned Odor (TEX) at OAK 8

With a lack of viable options at second base, DFS owners should seek high-floors over upside. Segura fits that profile. He has shown no signs of slowing down with five multi-hit games over his past 10, leading to a ridiculous .340 average. He has found pop in his bat as well, with five dingers and 19 RBIs in 36 games.

Odor is slashing a stellar .317/.317/.587 in May with four homers and seven RBIs. His miraculous eight multi-hit games in 13 played has exceeded his return value in each outing. A suspension may be looming for Odor; that shouldn't be an issue on Monday, but it's worth monitoring.

Mid-Tier Targets

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Derek Dietrich (MIA) at PHI 7
Dustin Pedroia (BOS) at KC 7
Chase Utley (LAD) vs. LAA 7
Josh Harrison (PIT) vs. ATL 7
Ian Kinsler (DET) vs. MIN 6
Starlin Castro (NYY) at ARI 6
Steve Pearce (TB) at TOR 6
Darwin Barney (TOR) vs. TB 5
Chris Coghlan (OAK) vs. TEX 5
Christian Colon (KC) vs. BOS 5

Dietrich has been fantastic while filling in for the suspended Dee Gordon. Since taking over the keystone, Dietrich is slashing .327/.421/.551 with six extra-base hits and five runs scored. Another multi-hit game isn't out of the question against the volatile righty Jerad Eickhoff of the Phillies.

Kinsler has been one of the safest daily fantasy plays to start the 2016 campaign. The Tigers' leadoff man has cooled off, failing to go yard, or even register an RBI over his last seven games after hitting six long-balls in his first 28 games.

On most DFS sites, Barney costs the the bare minimum. Add in his multi-position flexibility and Barney is worth taking a flier on - especially with limited options. In a minuscule sample, Barney has one homer and five RBIs while hitting .314 in 51 at-bats.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Brian Dozier (MIN) at DET 4
Johnny Giavotella (LAA) at LAD 4
Ryan Goins (TOR) vs. TB 3
Omar Infante (KC) vs. BOS 3
Cesar Hernandez (PHI) vs. MIA 3

Dozier is hitting an alarming .218 with just four home runs and six extra base hits. Don't expect him to do much against the Tigers' sizzling righty Jordan Zimmermann.

With southpaw Drew Smyly headed to the mound on Monday, expect Goins to sit this one out in favor of the aforementioned Barney. Even if he starts, Goins' uninspiring .213 OBP and .167 average in 102 at-bats should be enough to leave him alone.
