Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Nolan Arenado (COL) vs. CIN 9
Matt Carpenter (STL) at MIL 9
Manny Machado (BAL) vs. BOS 8
Travis Shaw (BOS) at BAL 8

Arenado has been just as productive on the road as he has at home, so it's safe to invest in his huge price point. He draws a favorable matchup against the RHP Jon Moscot and the Reds' train-wreck of a bullpen.

The Cardinals' power-hitters are more often than not a reliable daily fantasy play and with the atrocious start Brewers' Wily Peralta has strung together, a multi-hit game for Carpenter can't be ruled out.

Shaw was a sharp 4-for-13 with one homer, three RBIs and two runs plated in the Red Sox' most recent series against the Blue Jays. He continues to see the ball well at the plate, hitting a healthy .299 thus far. His DFS salary offers more budget relief than the other three Top Options at the hot corner.

Mid-Tier Targets

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Josh Donaldson (TOR) vs. NYY 7
Nick Castellanos (DET) at LAA 7
Aaron Hill (MIL) vs. STL 7
Matt Duffy (SF) at ATL 7
Kyle Seager (SEA) vs. SD 7
Danny Valencia (OAK) vs. MIN 7
Kris Bryant (CHC) vs. LAD 7
Jake Lamb (ARI) vs. HOU 7

After an abysmal start to the month of May, Donaldson is looking more like his MVP-caliber self, going 6-for-13 with two blasts and five RBIs. He and his hefty price tag still can't be trusted in cash games, so it's best to continue using him in tournaments.

Seager has continued his recent power surge and is currently slugging at a .521 clip while his average has jumped almost 100 points since the beginning of May, as it has skyrocketed from .163 to .261. He's a solid cash game option against RHP James Shields as a power-hitting LHB.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Maikel Franco (PHI) vs. WAS 6
Todd Frazier (CWS) at NYM 6
Eduardo Nunez (MIN) at OAK 6
Anthony Rendon (WAS) at PHI 6
Adrian Beltre (TEX) at CLE 6
Yunel Escobar (LAA) vs. DET 5
Evan Longoria (TB) at KC 5
Brandon Drury (ARI) vs. HOU 5
Jose Ramirez (CLE) vs. TEX 5
Jung Ho Kang (PIT) at MIA 5
Eugenio Suarez (CIN) at COL 5

Franco has been, with no surprise, the Phillies offensive catalyst. Though he's hit eight homers and produced 28 RBIs, he hasn't been able to produce at home, as he has gone yard just once with nine RBIs. His upside should be deployed in tournaments only.

Longoria has never had a season where his average was over .300, so hitting a modest .254 this season isn't out of the norm for him. He still has nine dingers on the year and has an attractive matchup against Royals' RHP Dillon Gee, who was rocked around in his first start of the season, giving up five earned runs; three of which went into the seats.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Martin Prado (MIA) vs. PIT 4
Marwin Gonzalez (HOU) at ARI 3
Justin Turner (LAD) at CHC 3
Chase Headley (NYY) at TOR 3
Alex Rodriguez (NYY) at TOR 3
David Freese (PIT) at MIA 3

Despite hitting a terrific .326 on the season, Prado's slashing just .182/.234/.227 in his last 10 contests. With Marlins' star Giancarlo Stanton slumping and now injured, Prado's DFS value has took a hit. A date against Pirates' Gerrit Cole suggests Prado is the fade of the night.
