Embiid says he's finally healthy in Instagram post
The 2016-17 regular season can't come soon enough for Joel Embiid, who may finally be ready to step on an NBA floor for the first time in his career for the Philadelphia 76ers.
The 22-year-old center posted the following on his Instagram account on Monday night, letting fans know that he may finally be healthy enough to suit up for the franchise.
Embiid hasn't seen a second of NBA action since going third overall to Philadelphia in the 2014 NBA Draft. A week before his selection, the Kansas product underwent surgery on a broken navicular bone in his right foot which cost him his entire rookie campaign.
A number of setbacks and yet another round of surgery have kept Embiid out of action ever since.
His debut in Sixers colors could go a long way towards helping turn the organization around. Philadelphia owns the first pick in this year's draft and has fresh faces in upper management with Jerry Colangelo as the chairman of basketball operations, and his son, Bryan, acting as the new general manager and president of basketball operations.
#TrustTheNewProcess, indeed.
