Mookie Betts had quite the night on Tuesday, hitting three home runs while driving in five runs and making a spectacular diving catch during the Boston Red Sox 6-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

The evening was so great, Betts proclaimed it as one of the best of his career.

"This is probably the best night," he told reporters, according to Ben Raby of MLB.com. "It's the first time I've ever done that. I was able to make a play behind Robbie Ross, too, so putting the whole game together, I think it was the best day."

Although the 23-year-old outfielder had an incredible night, he remained humble and instead pointed to how he can improve and become more of a consistent presence in the Red Sox lineup.

"It feels great, but tomorrow is a new day," Betts explained. "I feel like I haven't been consistent. One day, I'll have a good game and then I'll go 0-for-20. ... So I'm just trying to put it all together. One game is one game, but we'll try to do it for 15, 20 games."

While Betts shied away from putting too much attention on his performance, he managed to impress two of the team's hottest hitters in David Ortiz (.464/.545/1.107 in his last seven games) and Xander Bogaerts (24-game hitting streak).

"He's got five tools and he's smart," said Ortiz. "I really believe that he's getting to that point where he understands what he needs to do. He works extremely hard. ... Being so young, its just impressive the way he handles business.

"I never saw a three home run game, only on TV," added Bogaerts. "That’s one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen."

In just his third season in the league, Betts is hitting .283/.325/.522 with 12 home runs and 40 RBIs while leading the American League in runs scored (49).
