Mookie Betts enjoyed the "best night" of his baseball career Tuesday in Baltimore, where the precocious 23-year-old recorded his first three-homer game to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 6-2 victory over the Orioles.
Wednesday is off to a pretty good start too, though.
Betts, who remarked after his superb performance that "tomorrow is a new day," opened the tilt against the Orioles with his second leadoff home run in as many nights, giving his club another early lead with a solo shot to right-center off right-hander Mike Wright.
After smacking five home runs in his first 34 games this season, Betts - the American League leader in runs and triples - now has eight round-trippers in his last 19 contests.
