Jaguars agree to 4-year extension with Allen Hurns
The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to a four-year contract extension with Allen Hurns, the team announced Thursday.
While financial terms weren't disclosed by the team, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Hurns signed an extension worth $40 million in base salary over four years, with $20 million guaranteed. The extension also stipulates Hurns could earn up to $11 million per year with salary escalators.
Hurns is coming off a breakout campaign in which he recorded 64 receptions for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns in 15 games.
The wide receiver was slated to earn $600,000 for the upcoming season based on the terms of his rookie deal.
Entering his third season, Hurns is part of one of the league's most intriguing wide receiver duos alongside Allen Robinson. He said earlier this offseason he believes the tandem is the best in the NFL, and he'll have ample motivation to prove himself this fall.
Hurns went undrafted in 2014 out of Miami and was promptly signed by Jacksonville. The wide receiver made an immediate impact, scoring two touchdowns in his debut against the Philadelphia Eagles.
