Griezmann 'nearly 100 percent sure' Simeone won't leave Atletico

Atletico Madrid sensation Antoine Griezmann is "pretty sure" manager Diego Simeone will remain at the Spanish club this summer.

Simeone cast doubt on his future with Los Colchoneros following their loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, asking himself whether he had found himself at the end of a cycle.

But Griezmann had a conversation with Simeone, and came away feeling confident that the Argentine wouldn't abandon him or his teammates.

"I spoke to him and I'm pretty sure he's staying," Griezmann told beIN Sports France. "I'd be raging if he left. I still have a lot to learn from him.

"I spoke to Simeone, I'm nearly 100 percent sure he won't leave."

Griezmann, who joined the club from Real Sociedad in 2014, has enjoyed a particularly beneficial relationship with Simeone, scoring 32 goals across all competitions last season. Thought to be a luxury player in a predominantly defensive side, the 25-year-old Frenchman has developed into a dynamic two-way player.

Similarly, Simeone - a gregarious figure who is often seen pumping up the crowd - has transformed Atleti into a perennial contender since taking the job in 2011. He guided his team to the La Liga crown in 2014, bringing an end to Barcelona and Real Madrid's decade-long run of dominance in Spanish football.

Paris Saint-Germain has also kept an eye on the developments at the Vicente Calderon, with Laurent Blanc's position as manager reportedly under review.
