5 other times Ventura let emotions get the better of him

Yordano Ventura has a bad reputation around baseball, and it didn't get any better on Wednesday after the 25-year-old beaned Manny Machado of the Baltimore Orioles with a 99-mph fastball, inciting a benches-clearing brawl while the two fought near the mound.

This isn't the first time Ventura's temper has gotten the better of him either. The young Kansas City Royals right-hander is notorious for instigating several other incidents before Wednesday's debacle.

Here are five other times the irritable hurler has let his emotions get the better of him.

Tempers flare between Ventura, Trout

On April 12, 2015 Ventura decided to get into it with one of the game's top players after Mike Trout hammered a hard single off the right-hander following a brush-back pitch.

After Trout came around to score, the pair exchanged some words, which led to the benches and bullpens clearing, although no punches were thrown.

Ventura gets tossed after beaning Lawrie

Less than a week later, Ventura decided to try and get under the skin of then-Oakland Athletics infielder Brett Lawrie by beaning him with a 99-mph fastball and staring him down as he walked to first base.

The Royals' hurler was immediately ejected from the contest before things got out of hand, but made sure to glare at Lawrie before leaving the game.

Benches clear after Ventura, Eaton exchange words

After two incidents in two weeks, Ventura tried to outdo himself with yet another one on April 23, exchanging words with Adam Eaton of the Chicago White Sox for no particular reason.

Eaton's teammates didn't take too kindly to Ventura's barking, and right-hander Jeff Samardzija decided to take his frustrations out on Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain during a skirmish between the two clubs.

Bautista, Ventura have hot-tempered Twitter exchange

After the Royals got into yet another benches-clearing incident on Aug. 3, 2015, this time with the Toronto Blue Jays, Jose Bautista had some choice words for manager Ned Yost, which led to an eventual Twitter war with Ventura, who came to the rescue of his skipper.

During their exchange, Ventura showed a lack of respect for his fellow countryman, calling Bautista a nobody.

"We'll meet again later and if you do that with me, you'll see what I'm about. I don't care about anybody. I used to respect you, but you're a nobody … You got lucky this time, but MLB doesn't get canceled after this season. Keep running your mouth … You need to stop giving signs. You're gonna get it from me for being fresh and you really are a nobody."

Ventura gets into it with Blue Jays during ALCS

The Blue Jays fell victim to Ventura's erratic behavior yet again during the American League Championship Series, when he directed an awful stare towards Troy Tulowitzki after striking the slugger out during a crucial point in the game.

Blue Jays first base coach Tim Leiper got into a battle of words with Ventura after disagreeing with how he glared at the Blue Jays' shortstop.

Ventura had words for Leiper later in the game, which only made an already fiery series more feverish.
