Report: Watford submits offer for Berahino

Watford has tabled an offer for West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino, sources told Sky Sports' Ben Reynolds.

The 22-year-old, who created quite the furor last summer in his efforts to force a move to Tottenham Hotspur, had a tough season with the Baggies in 2015-16, but still appears to be hot property following the interest from Vicarage Road.

Three Premier League clubs have reportedly enquired about Berahino's availability, and Leicester City is poised to join the race if Jamie Vardy departs to Arsenal.

Newcastle United was also on the hunt for Berahino back in January, submitting a £21-million bid, but it's unlikely to renew its interest after being relegated to the Championship.

Berahino mustered a mere seven strikes over 35 appearances last season and fell behind Salomon Rondon in manager Tony Pulis' preferred forwards. Despite clinging onto the England Under-21 international for some time now, there is just one year left on his contract, so chairman Jeremy Peace may now be prepared to allow him to leave.

Spurs will not be trying to prize him away this time, though, as the club looks to other targets ahead of its Champions League commitments in 2016-17.
