Sunday's Outfielder Value Rankings

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's outfielder value rankings for Sunday, June 12 (all stats from Saturday's games are excluded):

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Starling Marte (PIT) vs. STL 8
Ian Desmond (TEX) at SEA 8
Carlos Gonzalez (COL) vs. SD 8
Carlos Beltran (NYY) vs. DET 8

Marte and Desmond are both costly options. However, their ability to fill a plethora of stat categories including steals makes them elite options. Either can be used in cash or tournament play.

Gonzalez and Beltran are worth targeting for home run upside as both benefit from playing in their home parks.

Mid-Tier Targets

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Kris Bryant (CHC) at ATL 7
Adam Duvall (CIN) vs. OAK 7
Stephen Piscotty (STL) at PIT 7
Brett Gardner (NYY) vs. DET 7
Christian Yelich (MIA) at ARI 7
Jay Bruce (CIN) vs. OAK 7
Yoenis Cespedes (CYM) at MIL 7
Mark Trumbo (BAL) at TOR 7
Jayson Werth (WAS) vs. PHI 7
Marcell Ozuna (MIA) at ARI 7
Nelson Cruz (SEA) vs. TEX 7
Dexter Fowler (CHC) at aTL 7
Bryce Harper (WAS) vs. PHI 7
George Springer (HOU) at TB 7

Duvall has a cupcake matchup against SP Kendall Graveman. Already with four homers in his past eight games, Duvall will look to take his season total to 18.

Gardner and Yelich are strong cash game options both on recent hot streaks.

Werth and Harper will look to tag SP Adam Morgan Sunday in Washington. But Werth is the better value play considering he is more likely to see legitimate at-bats instead of just being walked.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Andrew McCutchen (PIT) vs. STL 6
Matt Kemp (SD) at COL 6
Jackie Bradley Jr. (BOS) at MIN 6
Ryan Braun (MIL) vs. NYM 6
Mookie Betts (BOS) at MIN 6
Mike Trout (LAA) vs. CLE 6
J.D. Martinez (DET) at NYY 6
Brandon Moss (STL) at PIT 6
Michael Saunders (TOR) vs. BAL 6
Rajai Davis (CLE) at LAA 6
Jon Jay (SD) at COL 6
Jacoby Ellsbury (NYY) vs. DET 6
Nomar Mazara (TEX) at SEA 6
Gregory Polanco (PIT) vs. STL 6
Lorenzo Cain (KC) at CWS 6

McCutchen sports a .250 average against SP Mike Leake in 68 career at-bats. With a lengthy history like that, McCutchen makes for a decent contrarian play relative to his struggles this season.

Betts is hitting just .194 against lefties this year and comes with a sky-high price tag. At his price point, DFS players are taking a big gamble.

Mazara is hitting .385 over his last 10 games. Unfortunately, he has just three extra-base hits in that span. In the pitcher-friendly confines of Safeco Field, it is unlikely Mazara bucks that trend.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Charlie Blackmon (COL) vs. SD 5
Melvin Upton Jr. (SD) at COL 5
Jose Bautista (TOR) vs. BAL 5
Justin Upton (DET) at NYY 5
Jose Ramirez (CLE) at LAA 5
Jason Heyward (CHC) at ATL 5
Cameron Maybin (DET) at NYY 5

Bautista is listed as day-to-day with a thigh injury and sat out Saturday's contest. With an early start time Sunday, rostering Bautista will force DFS players to monitor Toronto's lineup on what is supposed to be a day of rest.

Upton is hitting just .208 on the road this year. Even with a matchup against SP Michael Pineda, DFS players are better off fading Upton as they have likely done most of the year.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Matt Holliday (STL) at PIT 4
Curtis Granderson (NYM) at MIL 4
Giancarlo Stanton (MIA) at ARI 4
Steven Souza Jr. (TB) vs. HOU 4
Whit Merrifield (KC) at CWS 4
Khris Davis (OAK) at CIN 4
Gerardo Parra (COL) vs. SD 4
Adam Eaton (CWS) vs. KC 4
Michael A. Taylor (WAS) vs. PHI 4

Stanton's price remains high and his play poor. Hitting .150 over his last 10 games has brought his season average just below the Mendoza line.
