Saturday's Outfielder Value Rankings

Dan Hamilton / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's outfielder value rankings for Saturday, June 18 (all stats exclude Friday's games):

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Ezequiel Carrera (TOR) at BAL 9
Shin-Soo Choo (TEX) at STL 8
Jake Smolinski (OAK) vs. LAA 8
Albert Almora Jr. (CHC) vs. PIT 8
Lonnie Chisenhall (CLE) vs. CWS 8
Michael Saunders (TOR) at BAL 8
Curtis Granderson (NYM) vs. ATL 8

Carrera should lead off in Jose Bautista's absence; in three starts in last weekend's series with the Orioles, Carrera recorded at least one hit and run scored in each.

Since returning from another DL stint, Choo has assumed the leadoff role. He has been reaching base and scoring runs with regularity. Smolinski is batting .319, and could provide a less-than-warm welcome to new Angel Tim Lincecum.

Against left-handed pitching, Almora represents an affordable entry into the Cubs' offense. In Friday afternoon's game, he recorded three hits and two RBIs, likely ensuring him another start.

Chisenhall specializes in hitting right-handed pitching, and new White Sox RHP James Shields has allowed 23 earned runs in his first three starts since returning to the American League.

Mid-Tier Targets

Name Opponent Value
Billy Burns (OAK) vs. LAA 7
Coco Crisp (OAK) vs. LAA 7
Jaff Decker (TB) vs. SF 7
Brett Eibner (KC) vs. DET 7
Paulo Orlando (KC) vs. DET 7
Ichiro Suzuki (MIA) vs. COL 7
Mike Trout (LAA) at OAK 7
Adam Eaton (CWS) at CLE 7
Adam Duvall (CIN) at HOU 7
Jay Bruce (CIN) at HOU 7
Ben Revere (WAS) at SD 7
Ian Desmond (TEX) at STL 7
Nelson Cruz (SEA) at BOS 7
Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) vs. ATL 7
Adam Jones (BAL) vs. TOR 7
Rajai Davis (CLE) vs. CWS 7
Mookie Betts (BOS) vs. SEA 7

Relative to his minimum price, Decker has some upside, mainly due to seemingly assured playing time thanks to the injuries in the Tampa Bay outfield.

There's no guarantee Ichiro will be in the lineup as he marches toward 3,000 hits, but if he is, he's usually productive. He has multi-hit games in each of his last five starts, with at least a run scored in every one.

Duvall and Bruce are similarly priced and have been crushing the ball with regularity of late; Duvall has the handedless advantage against lefty Dallas Keuchel.

Name Opponent Value
Carlos Gomez (HOU) vs. CIN 6
Lorenzo Cain (KC) vs. DET 6
Hyun Soo Kim (BAL) vs. TOR 6
Leonys Martin (SEA) at BOS 6
Angel Pagan (SF) at TB 6
Seth Smith (SEA) at BOS 6
Matt Holliday (STL) vs. TEX 6
Kevin Pillar (TOR) at BAL 6
Bryce Harper (WAS) at SD 6
Stephen Piscotty (STL) vs. TEX 6
Dexter Fowler (CHC) vs. PIT 6
Ryan Braun (MIL) at LAD 6
George Springer (HOU) vs. CIN 6
Carlos Beltran (NYY) at MIN 6
Jacoby Ellsbury (NYY) at MIN 6
Michael Conforto (NYM) vs. ATL 6
Robbie Grossman (MIN) vs. NYY 6
Steven Moya (DET) at KC 6
Andrew McCutchen (PIT) at CHC 6
Brandon Moss (STL) vs. TEX 6
Billy Hamilton (CIN) at HOU 6
Melky Cabrera (CWS) at CLE 6
Howie Kendrick (LAD) vs. MIL 6
Ryan Raburn (COL) at MIA 6
Corey Dickerson (TB) vs. SF 6
Trayce Thompson (LAD) vs. MIL 6
Kole Calhoun (LAA) at OAK 6
Joc Pederson (LAD) vs. MIL 6
Khris Davis (OAK) vs. LAA 6
Gregory Polanco (PIT) at CHC 5
Matt Kemp (SD) vs. WAS 5
Michael Bourn (ARI) at PHI 5
Mark Trumbo (BAL) vs. TOR 5
Melvin Upton Jr. (SD) vs. WAS 5
Charlie Blackmon (COL) at MIA 5
Carlos Gonzalez (COL) at MIA 5
Marcel Ozuna (MIA) vs. COL 5
Christian Yelich (MIA) vs. COL 5
David Peralta (ARI) at PHI 5
Colby Rasmus (HOU) vs. CIN 5
Justin Upton (DET) at KC 5
Jackie Bradley Jr. (BOS) vs. SEA 5

Gomez is admittedly tough to trust, but has two straight multi-hit games and will face rookie lefty Cody Reed, making his MLB debut.

McCutchen has a bargain price on some sites as he faces Jon Lester; he broke out of an extended slump with three hits and a home run on Thursday. Like Polanco and Kemp, he has an unfavorable pitching matchup on the slate.

While the Blue Jays as a whole have been rolling, it's surprising to see Pillar as the highest-priced outfielder on some sites. He's prone to hot streaks, and isn't nearly as consistent as Saunders or as affordable as Carrera.

There's a good chance one of Blackmon or Gonzalez finds themselves on the bench against LHP Wei-Yin Chen.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Brett Gardner (NYY) at MIN 4
Mallex Smith (ATL) at NYM 4
Byron Buxton (MIN) vs. NYY 4
Ender Inciarte (ATL) at NYM 3
Nomar Mazara (TEX) at STL 3
Jeff Francoeur (ATL) at NYM 3
Peter O'Brien (ARI) at PHI 3
Giancarlo Stanton (MIA) vs. COL 3

Though Stanton is stunningly priced among the lesser lights of the DFS landscape, given the dreadful slump he's in, perhaps any outlay is too much.

Rookie sensation Mazara is hitless in his last 19 at-bats, and has just a single RBI in his last 10 games.
