Monday's Shortstop Value Rankings
Here are theScore's shortstop value rankings for Monday, June 20 (all stats exclude Sunday's games):
Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP
Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Trevor Story (COL) | at MIA | 9 |
Francisco Lindor (CLE) | vs. TB | 9 |
Tim Anderson (CWS) | at BOS | 8 |
Xander Bogaerts (BOS) | vs. CWS | 8 |
The Marlins will send pitcher Paul Clemens to the mound on Monday for a spot start, resulting in a price spike to the Rockies hitters, putting them around their Coors Field price points. In Story's past four outings, he is 5-for-13 with one bomb and three runs plated. Furthermore, he's a fixture in cash games.
Lindor and Bogaerts are the priciest on this list but remain elite options in their respective matchups.
Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Carlos Correa (HOU) | vs. LAA | 7 |
Elvis Andrus (TEX) | vs. BAL | 7 |
Brandon Crawford (SF) | at PIT | 6 |
Jordy Mercer (PIT) | vs. SF | 6 |
Addison Russell (CHC) | vs. STL | 6 |
Jose Iglesias (DET) | vs. SEA | 6 |
Aledmys Diaz (STL) | at CHC | 6 |
J.J. Hardy (BAL) | at TEX | 5 |
Corey Seager (LAD) | vs. WAS | 5 |
Ketel Marte (SEA) | at DET | 5 |
The sophomore shortstop is shaking out of his slump, with hits in three straight games, including one round tripper. His DFS salary is beginning to normalize with his production, and considering the lack of options at an already thin position, Correa is a solid play.
Crawford's season is off to an abysmal start, hitting only six dingers and an average sitting at a middling .264. Despite the loss in power, he has done a great job of driving in runs, registering 40 RBIs on the season, including 10 throughout June. A lack of options make him an appealing matchup play Monday night.
At a discounted price caused by a daunting matchup with the Nationals' sizzling RHP Stephen Strasburg, Seager is worth a flier. He has mashed 15 bombs already this season but has only produced 36 RBIs. With the team owning a .309 OBP, his ceiling is capped.
Nothing to See Here
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Brad Miller (TB) | at CLE | 4 |
Danny Espinosa (WAS) | at LAD | 3 |
Andrelton Simmons (LAA) | at HOU | 3 |
Adeiny Hechavarria (MIA) | vs. COL | 3 |
With back-to-back homers and a three-game hit-streak, DFS owners have watched Miller's DFS salary rise to a rather costly price. Don't buy into his recent streak. Espinosa gets faded due to his matchup with Clayton Kershaw.
