Report: Pellegrini linked with Russia job after Slutsky hints resignation

Soon-to-be-former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly been offered a new job at the helm of the Russian national team, with current manager Leonid Slutsky offering his resignation following Russia's elimination from Euro 2016.

The Russian federation has reportedly made a "millionaire" two-year offer for Pellegrini's services, with the Chilean supposedly "very tempted" by the deal, though he has yet to make a decision one way or the other, according to a report published on ESPN FC.

Slutsky, who took the reigns of the national team despite remaining at the helm of club side CSKA Moscow, said the country needs "someone else in charge," after finishing last in Group B with a 3-0 loss to Wales in its final match.

Pellegrini's contract with Manchester City expires at the end of June, with Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola set to take over at the Etihad at the top of the 2016-17 Premier League season.
