Wednesday's Outfielder Value Rankings

Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Here are theScore's outfielder value rankings for Wednesday, June 22 (all stats exclude Tuesday's games):

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Christian Yelich (MIA) vs. ATL 9
Michael Saunders (TOR) vs. ARI 8
Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) vs. KC 8
Kris Bryant (CHC) vs. STL 8
Melky Cabrera (CWS) at BOS 8

No surprise here with Yelich taking the top spot against a right-handed pitcher in Matt Wisler. Yelich has a .861 OPS over his past 10 contests, and he's hitting .327 against righties this season.

Saunders is hitting over .300 against both righties and lefties, and his breakout year continues with a 1.447 OPS over his past 10 games. Until the regression occurs, he needs to be in all lineups.

Cespedes is a lone bright spot in what has become a black hole of a lineup for the Mets. Royals LHP Danny Duffy has been nothing short of elite of late, but Cespedes has crushed lefties this year.

Mid-Tier Targets

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Peter O'Brien (ARI) at TOR 7
Giancarlo Stanton (MIA) vs. ATL 7
Kevin Pillar (TOR) vs. ARI 7
Nomar Mazara (TEX) vs. CIN 7
Ryan Braun (MIL) at OAK 7
Shin-Soo Choo (TEX) vs. CIN 7
Hyun Soo Kim (BAL) vs. SD 7
Joc Pederson (LAD) vs. WAS 7
Justin Upton (DET) vs. SEA 7
Yasmany Tomas (ARI) at TOR 7
Jayson Werth (WAS) at LAD 7
Adam Jones (BAL) vs. SD 7
Starling Marte (PIT) vs. SF 7
Marcell Ozuna (MIA) vs. ATL 7
Corey Dickerson (TB) at CLE 7

O'Brien homered off a righty for the first time this season Tuesday, and he'll get to play in the better half of his split Wednesday, against LHP J.A. Happ, who has been elite at times, but very shaky at others.

Stanton has begun to resemble his former self and it's time for DFS owners to buy back in while his price remains low. If he continues his recent pace, the salary will rise rapidly.

Watch out for injury concerns with Marte and Ozuna, but should they play. They'll be as safe as usual.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Ryan Raburn (COL) at NYY 6
Tyler Naquin (CLE) vs. TB 6
Robbie Grossman (MIN) vs. PHI 6
Adam Eaton (CWS) at BOS 6
Charlie Blackmon (COL) at NYY 6
Adam Duvall (CIN) at TEX 6
Michael A. Taylor (WAS) at LAD 6
Carlos Beltran (NYY) vs. COL 6
Khris Davis (OAK) vs. MIL 6
Ezequiel Carrera (TOR) vs. ARI 6
Jose Ramirez (CLE) vs. TB 6
Angel Pagan (SF) at PIT 6
Matt Kemp (SD) at BAL 6
Mike Trout (LAA) at HOU 6
Mookie Betts (BOS) vs. CWS 6
Chris Young (BOS) vs. CWS 6
Colby Rasmus (HOU) vs. LAA 6
Jay Bruce (CIN) at TEX 6
Gregory Polanco (PIT) vs. SF 6
Ian Desmond (TEX) vs. CIN 6
Seth Smith (SEA) at DET 6
Brett Gardner (NYY) vs. COL 6
Leonys Martin (SEA) at DET 6
Kole Calhoun (LAA) at HOU 6

Lock in Raburn as a cheap platoon option against Yankees LHP CC Sabathia. Sabathia has been much improved in his past few starts, but Raburn's a career .262 hitter against lefties.

Consider fading Trout, due to his recent struggles and a matchup against a tough righty in Lance McCullers. The upside will be there, but he may be too much of a risk for cash games.

Desmond has struggled against righties during his resurgent campaign, but Reds RHP Dan Straily does offer some home run upside.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Trayce Thompson (LAD) vs. WAS 5
Gregor Blanco (SF) at PIT 5
Carlos Gonzalez (COL) at NYY 5
Jason Heyward (CHC) vs. STL 5
Jackie Bradley Jr. (BOS) vs. CWS 5
Norichika Aoki (SEA) at DET 5
Matt Holliday (STL) at CHC 5
Ender Inciarte (ATL) at MIA 5
Rajai Davis (CLE) vs. TB 5
Mark Trumbo (BAL) vs. SD 5
Carlos Gomez (HOU) vs. LAA 5
Howie Kendrick (LAD) vs. WAS 5
Cody Asche (PHI) at MIN 5
Albert Almora Jr. (CHC) vs. STL 5
Whit Merrifield (KC) at NYM 5
Odubel Herrera (PHI) at MIN 5
Billy Hamilton (CIN) at TEX 5
Lorenzo Cain (KC) at NYM 5

The power potential deteriorates throughout this group. Gomez is an interesting candidate who has been greatly improved since returning from the disabled list, but a matchup against tough righty Matt Shoemaker may be a bump in the road.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
George Springer (HOU) vs. LAA 4
Billy Burns (OAK) vs. MIL 4
Andrew McCutchen (PIT) vs. SF 4
Nelson Cruz (SEA) at DET 4
Bryce Harper (WAS) at LAD 4
Yasiel Puig (LAD) vs. WAS 4
Melvin Upton Jr. (SD) at BAL 4
Max Kepler (MIN) vs PHI 3
Cameron Maybin (DET) vs. SEA 3
Brandon Moss (STL) at CHC 3
Stephen Piscotty (STL) at CHC 3
Curtis Granderson (NYM) vs. KC 2

The two most interesting names in this group may be those of Puig and Upton Jr. Puig is not yet trustworthy due to his recent activation and his early-season struggles prior to his stint on the disabled list. Upton Jr. has been on an offensive tear, resulting in a .981 OPS over his past 10 games.

There have been better players during that span, and Upton's history doesn't warrant his rapidly rising price.
