Barnes hopes to re-sign with Warriors: 'I want to come back'
The Golden State Warriors are the only NBA franchise Harrison Barnes has ever known, and he's hoping to keep it that way.
Set to become a restricted free agent on July 1, the 24-year-old has made it clear he wishes to remain with the organization that selected him with the seventh pick in the 2012 draft.
"The first thing is, I want to come back," he told Sirius XM NBA Radio.
Barnes has shown improvement in each of his four seasons with the Warriors, and is coming off a year in which he averaged a career-best 11.7 points per game.
Despite a poor playoff performance, he's expected to have a number of suitors, and his future with the organization could hinge on the Warriors making a potential run at signing superstar free agent Kevin Durant.
It was reported earlier this month that the Warriors would match any offer sheet Barnes receives, even if those offers hover around the $20 million-per-year range.
