Watford nabs Isaac Success from Granada for club-record transfer fee

Watford has bolstered its promising two-prong attack ahead of a second-successive Premier League campaign, signing 20-year-old striker Isaac Success to a five-year contract from Granada for a club-record transfer fee.

With Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo teaming-up to good results for the Hornets, incoming gaffer Walter Mazzarri now has a third talented forward at his disposal. Granada announced the move Thursday on its website.

"Two years ago I came to this amazing city with a dream. I chased that dream since childhood," Success said with a letter Thursday.

"Today is bittersweet day for me, because through this letter, I want to say goodbye to the best job you can have."

Although Watford didn't disclose the transfer fee, the cost to ensure his arrival likely exceeds the reported £6.6 million the club paid Tottenham for Etienne Capoue in 2015.

He joins Jerome Sinclair and Christian Kabasele as new arrivals who will call Vicarage Road home next season.

With Success having reportedly attracted interest from continental heavyweights like Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid, the Nigerian's move to the Premier League upstarts is certain to raise a few eyebrows.

Transactions between the two sides are not uncommon, as the Pozzo family has a vested interest in both clubs and Serie A side Udinese. Last season, the Hornets loaned Abdoulaye Doucoure and teenager Adalberto Penaranda to the Andalusians after the latter made the switch from the north Italian outfit.

Giampaolo Pozzo sold his share in Granada to Chinese investors on June 16, 2016.
