Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Todd Frazier (CWS) | vs. NYY | 10 |
Kyle Seager (SEA) | at HOU | 9 |
Kris Bryant (CHC) | vs. CIN | 8 |
Yankees SP Michael Pineda gives up home runs. Frazier hits them aplenty. Frazier comes at a suppressed salary and could be a huge bonus to GPP lineups. Don't hesitate for even half a second.
Seager is hitting .317 against right-handed pitchers. Looking at how poor his early season numbers were, his turnaround is pretty spectacular. As long as there's a righty on the hill -- in this case, Astros SP Doug Fister -- Seager should find his way into plenty of lineups.
Bryant is very expensive for good reason. He is slashing .361/.455/.944 with six home runs and three doubles over his last 10 games. Spend up and find bargains somewhere else.
Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Josh Donaldson (TOR) | vs. KC | 7 |
Jake Lamb (ARI) | vs. SD | 6 |
Manny Machado (BAL) | at LAD | 5 |
Both Lamb and Donaldson are in the same pricing stratosphere as Bryant and both mostly deserve it. With the Padres starting RHP Colin Rea, the price bump for Lamb makes a certain amount of sense, as he either struggles or straight up doesn't play against lefties.
Donaldson could go yard again against Royals SP Ian Kennedy, and he will have to in order to recoup his salary. With the whole team firing on all offensive cylinders, he will tally points as long as he reaches base. He still needs a home run to reach his ceiling though.
Despite hitting .356 over his last 10 games, Machado hasn't hit a home run since June 24. He's still elite, but the price is high for someone who has been exclusively a singles hitter for two weeks.
Nothing to See Here
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Miguel Sano (MIN) | vs. OAK | 4 |
Nolan Arenado (COL) | at SF | 3 |
Danny Valencia (OAK) | at MIN | 2 |
Sano being back from injury has yielded immediate dividends and otherwise predictable results. He's an all-or-nothing player and, as such, his inflated salary needs careful scrutiny. If A's SP Sonny Gray pitches to his potential, Sano will be a giant, expensive hole in the middle of a DFS lineup.
Arenado will see his DFS salary drop with Giants SP Johnny Cueto on the mound. If he hits anywhere close to his ceiling, his value will come cheaply. Relegate him to tournaments, but don't anticipate his best game. Valencia is hitting only .220 over his last 10 games, finally coming down to earth. He's not worth the investment.
