Report: Bulls attempting to clear cap space to sign Wade
The Chicago Bulls are calling other teams in an attempt to unload contracts to create cap room that would allow them to sign Dwyane Wade, according to sources of The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Wade, a Chicago native, is serious about a potential move to the Bulls, Wojnarowski reports.
The Bulls have so far added Rajon Rondo on a 1-and-1 contract during free agency, on the books at $13.7 million for 2016-17. They would need to clear enough space to accommodate Wade's purported demand of about $25 million per season. The Bulls are reportedly shopping veterans Jose Calderon and Mike Dunleavy in an effort to clear the needed space.
The Denver Nuggets are presently the only team with known interest in Wade that can pay him without cap gymnastics. The Miami Heat still need to clear room in order to re-sign the franchise legend, but are reportedly having problems finding takers on the only logical exit candidate, reserve forward Josh McRoberts.
