Griezmann enters rarefied air with brace against Germany
When you're mentioned in the same breath as Michel Platini - strictly for on-field reasons, of course - you know you're doing something right.
By scoring both goals in Thursday's semi-final victory over Germany, Antoine Griezmann, arguably the planet's most underappreciated superstar, took two steps towards a record that's long been deemed unbreakable.

While Platini's record will still take some catching, Griezmann now joins Thierry Henry as France's second-best scorer in European Championship history, on six tallies.
It would take a hat trick in the final against Portugal for the diminutive Atletico Madrid talisman to equal Platini's mark. His opposite number in that match, Cristiano Ronaldo, will also be looking to assume the all-time scoring lead in the tournament. The Portuguese captain is tied with Platini on nine tallies.
It's perfectly poised, as they say.
