Report: Silva discussed for Cormier fight at UFC 200; White refutes rumor

Former middleweight champion Anderson Silva has been discussed as a replacement opponent versus Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 on Saturday, according to a report from MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.

Silva himself fanned the flames on Instagram with a post stating that he is coming to Las Vegas.

However, according to a text from Dana White sent to ESPN's Brett Okamoto, the report is false.

"There is no fight made. We are talking to several fighters," said White.

Additionally, John Stouffer of FOX Sports is reporting that White is weighing two options, a light heavyweight title fight and a non-title fight.

The search for a replacement began in the wake of original co-headliner Jon Jones being removed from the UFC 200 main event after it was announced Wednesday that he had failed an out-of-competition drug test.

Silva was most recently booked for UFC 198 this past May, but was forced out with a gall bladder issue for which he later underwent surgery.
