Report: West Brom offers sought-after Berahino 4-year deal
West Bromwich Albion is making further efforts to retain striker Saido Berahino, offering the in-demand youngster a new four-year contract.
The Telegraph's John Percy describes it as "another twist" in a transfer saga that has dragged on since the Baggies fought off aggressive bidding from Tottenham Hotspur last summer for their wantaway asset. This summer it appears Stoke City and Watford are pursuing Berahino.

Berahino's transfer request to leave a year ago was turned down, prompting the 22-year-old to declare he'd never play for West Brom again while Jeremy Peace was chairman. The youngster went back on his impassioned words but it looked to affect his trust from manager Tony Pulis - he started just 17 matches in 2015-16 - and prolificacy in front of goal as he contributed just four goals.
Watford is looking to strengthen its options beyond Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney in its strikeforce. Jerome Sinclair has been drafted in from Liverpool, but Walter Mazzarri has also allegedly identified Berahino as a target.
At Stoke, meanwhile, Mark Hughes' choices up front are either injury-prone or inconsistent. Or, in the case of hard-working hulk Jonathan Walters and the gangly Peter Crouch, simply reaching the conclusion of their playing days.
Should Berahino agree to fresh terms in the West Midlands, he'll be hoping to feature in its opener of the Premier League season at Crystal Palace on Aug. 13.
