Vincent Janssen's move from AZ Alkmaar to Tottenham is close to being completed, the Dutch forward revealed.
Janssen said that he will no longer train with the Eredivisie side as talks between the two teams enter the final stage, with a transfer fee for the 22-year-old considered the biggest obstacle holding up the deal, according to Sky Sports' sources.
"I won't train with AZ anymore," he told Dutch publication Algemeen Dagblad, as translated by Sky Sports. "The clubs are now really close to an agreement. I will go home and wait for the phone call to go.
"I'm glad that it is almost complete. For me, it was clear from the beginning that I wanted to go to Spurs. The competition appeals to me and the plan of the coach is similar to the plan that AZ boss John van den Brom shared with me a year ago at AZ.
"It is a beautiful club with a fantastic stadium and heaps of potential. Anyone in my shoes would take this step."
Janssen, who is expected to cost Tottenham close to £15 million, led the Eredivisie last season in scoring after finding the back of the 27 times in 34 league matches.

His role at White Hart Lane, assuming the deal goes through, could involve a reduction in playing time as he is expected to find himself behind Harry Kane on the team's depth chart.
Janssen, however, welcomes the challenge of battling Kane for playing time.
"Harry Kane? People can say what they want but I'm not afraid of anybody," he said. "He is a great striker but we will see how it goes. We can complement each other, I think I can learn a lot from him."
