Report: Stoke waits on £20M Berahino deal as West Brom seeks replacement

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes faces a frustrating wait to find out whether Saido Berahino will join his squad to the tune of £20 million, as West Bromwich Albion reportedly insists on landing a replacement before ratifying a deal.
The Baggies will allow forward Berahino to leave, reports The Telegraph's John Percy, but only after their talks over a club-record smashing £15-million transfer for West Ham United's Diafra Sakho are completed.
The Senegalese has apparently requested to leave West Ham, but he and Berahino may have to be part of a domino effect to get their wishes. If the Irons land Wissam Ben Yedder, or one of their other various forward targets, that could then open to exit door for Sakho and, in turn, for Berahino.
Sakho, 26, is also an alleged target for Sunderland, while Berahino has interested Crystal Palace.
Stoke was apparently eyeing West Brom's 22-year-old back in January, and Hughes is desperate to kick on this summer after leading the Potters to Premier League finishes of ninth in each of the last three seasons.
"We are addressing key areas and positions that we feel we can improve on and if the right players become available then we will be interested," said Hughes.
Stoke travels to top-flight newcomer Middlesbrough on Aug. 13 to begin its campaign.
