WWE draft results: Rollins to Raw, Ambrose to Smackdown
World Wrestling Entertainment made history on Tuesday night with its brand-extension draft, splitting Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live into two separate brands with exclusive rosters and championships.
Making the selections for Raw were commissioner Stephanie McMahon and her general manager, "The Hardcore Legend" Mick Foley. Shane McMahon and former three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan announced the picks for Smackdown.
Seth Rollins, the self-proclaimed architect of The Shield and former two-time champion in his own right, was picked first overall for Raw, while current champion Dean Ambrose - who will defend his title in a Triple Threat match at Battleground on Sunday night - went second to Smackdown.
As a result of being an hour longer, Raw was granted three picks for every two Smackdown received to fill out its three-hour show.
