Kemp: 'I've never really played in a baseball town before'

Matt Kemp has insulted both the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego in one fell swoop.

After the Atlanta Braves added the 31-year-old to their roster Tuesday for the first time since acquiring him in a trade Saturday, the former Padres and Dodgers outfielder may have been a little too excited about finally getting started in the state of Georgia.

"I've never really played in a baseball town before. So, I am excited about that," Kemp said, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman.

Unless Kemp has completely forgotten about the nine seasons he spent with the Dodgers from 2006-14, there may be some discrepancies in his statement. The Dodgers are one of MLB's most storied clubs, and have continuously ranked in the top five in attendance over the last decade.

While the Padres may not have the same history as the Dodgers, it's a little harsh to consider them not a baseball town. San Diego's lack of a World Series conquest leaves them a little behind Atlanta's mark of three, but they have beaten the Braves in attendance over the last two seasons.
