Report: West Ham agrees to £20M fee for Swansea's Andre Ayew

West Ham United's search for a forward has taken it to the furthest corners of Europe, but now it appears a brief trip to the Welsh coast would've sufficed.

The Irons are discussing personal terms with Swansea City's Andre Ayew after having a £20-million offer accepted, reports BBC Sport's Owen Rawlings, potentially addressing a position that Slaven Bilic's looked to strengthen all summer.

Moves for more prolific continental talent in Olympique Lyonnais' Alexandre Lacazette and AC Milan's Carlos Bacca fell short, leaving West Ham looking to Ayew to revive a strike force that saw no member tally double figures last term.

Ayew was Swansea's top scorer last season with 12, and the Premier League's player of the month for August. A relatively dry spell between December and April, however, was remedied with a flurry of four strikes in his final three outings.

A widely anticipated departure from West Ham was Diafra Sakho, but reports suggested that his protracted transfer to West Bromwich Albion collapsed shortly after his medical in the west Midlands.

Meanwhile, under Francesco Guidolin, Swansea's experienced wholesale changes to the frontline this summer. Alberto Paloschi, Bafetimbi Gomis, and Eder have all exited the Liberty Stadium, while the experienced Spaniard Fernando Llorente has been brought in from Sevilla with his compatriot Borja Baston's arrival seemingly imminent.

Elsewhere in the summer transfer window, Guidolin has added Mike van der Hoorn, Leroy Fer, and Mark Birighitti on permanent deals.
