Pogba suspended for Manchester United opener at Bournemouth
Manchester United's blockbuster summer signing, Paul Pogba, will have to wait a week before taking the pitch after the English Football Association announced Friday a one-match ban for the player.
The suspension stems from Pogba's final campaign with Juventus, where the French international was booked twice in the Coppa Italia competition. The FA released a statement naming Pogba and three other players slated to miss the opening weekend of Premier League action. Those compulsory penalties have now been transferred to England.
As a result, the angular midfielder will miss Sunday's visit to Bournemouth, making him eligible for his return the following Friday at home to Southampton.

Pogba's two bookings last season in the domestic cup came in a win over Inter in March before a second yellow in final's victory May 21 over AC Milan. The Coppa win over the Rossoneri was Juventus' final match of the season.
With Pogba having just returned from an extended holiday on the heels of his Euro 2016 efforts, it was unlikely the 23-year-old would start against the Cherries.
The world's most expensive footballer will be joined on the Dean Court sidelines by Red Devils mate Chris Smalling, who like Pogba, misses out with an accumulation of bookings carrying over from the 2015-16 campaign.
