Mo Farah overcomes fall to defend gold in 10,000m
Mo Farah of Great Britain won the gold medal in the 10,000m final Saturday night at Rio 2016, rallying after a collision with Galen Rupp of the United States to defend his London 2012 title.
Farah trailed for much of the race, but overtook Kenya's Paul Kipngetich Tanui down the final stretch to finish first by nearly half a second with a time of 27:05.17.
His latest achievement continues an impressive run of dominance on the international stage.
That is Mo Farah's eighth straight gold medal at Olympics and world championships. Nobody else, not even Viren, has managed more than five.

Farah fell after making contact with Rupp, his training partner, on the 10th lap. The defending champion fell back into ninth place but eventually got up and looked no worse for wear.

Ethiopia's Tamirat Tola took the bronze, while Tola's countryman Yigrem Demelash placed fourth and Rupp finished fifth.
