Allyson Felix became the most decorated female track and field athlete in U.S. history, after winning silver in the 400m Monday.
Felix posted a 49.51 mark, losing to Bahamas' Shaunae Miller in exhilarating fashion. Miller dove across the line, stretching past Felix to win gold with a mark of 49.44.
It is the seventh Olympic medal of Felix's career, surpassing Jackie Joyner-Kersee for the most career medals won by a female American track athlete.
Most notably, Felix won three gold medals in 2012, capturing the 200m while helping the U.S. secure victories in the 4x100 and 4x400m relays.
