Southampton has signed 35-year-old goalkeeper Stuart Taylor on a one-year deal.
The former England Under-21 shot-stopper has been a bench-warmer at Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Reading, and most recently Leeds United. Taylor is now intended to be third-choice behind Fraser Forster and Alex McCarthy on the south coast.
"Harry Lewis has now joined the first-team training group to continue his development, while Paulo (Gazzaniga) is gaining valuable first-team game time on loan in Spain (with Rayo Vallecano)," explained the club's executive director of football Les Reed.
"With Kelvin (Davis) retiring earlier this summer, and with so many games this season, Stuart's arrival will provide us with added depth."
Despite a lack of first-team minutes since his debut 17 years ago, Taylor has two Premier League medals and an FA Cup triumph to his name.
Southampton continues its 2016-17 Premier League term with a visit from Sunderland on Saturday.
