Report: Sabres' Eichel out at least 4-6 weeks with ankle sprain

The Buffalo Sabres are expected to be without forward Jack Eichel for at least four-to-six weeks after sustaining a high ankle sprain, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.

The Sabres confirmed the diagnosis and announced there's no timeline for the 19-year-old's return.
Eichel got tangled up with forward Zemgus Girgensons at practice Wednesday during a drill in front of the net and took an awkward fall on his left ankle.

The injury is a huge blow to the Sabres, as Eichel was slated to occupy the team's No. 1 center position.
