At long last, Arsenal confirmed the signing of Spanish striker Lucas Perez on Tuesday, with the 27-year-old arriving from Deportivo La Coruna for a reported fee of £17 million.

"He’s not only a goalscorer, he’s a guy who combines well with partners, who can give a final ball and makes good runs," said Gunners boss Arsene Wenger of his newest forward.
"He’s got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year."
Arsenal reportedly pipped Premier League rival Everton to Perez's signature, as the Toffees were believed to be interested in acquiring his services earlier in the month.
The move should be one of two finalised by the north London club in the final hours of the transfer window, as German defender Shkodran Mustafi is set to sign from Valencia for a reported £35 million.
Perez, who is uncapped by Spain, scored 19 goals for Deportivo last season across all competitions. His sendoff from the Riazor was also a memorable one, as he netted the winner in a 2-1 triumph over Eibar on the opening day of the new La Liga campaign.
Perez began his career with Atletico Madrid's C team, also spending time at Rayo Vallecano, Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv, and Greek club PAOK.
In following Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano, and Rob Holding to the Emirates, he should challenge the aforementioned Giroud for the lead role atop Arsenal's impressive attack.
Boasting impressive pace and a desire to make penetrating runs behind the opposition defence, Perez could prove an inspired signing given the ability of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, and others in the squad who can slice open a backline with a perfect pass.
