Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP
Top Options
NAME | VALUE | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
Jung Ho Kang (PIT) | vs. WAS | 9 |
Justin Turner (LAD) | vs. COL | 8 |
Kyle Seager (SEA) | at MIN | 8 |
Kang has a .400 OBP over his last 10 games, which has kept his floor high despite hitting just .226 in that stretch. Of Kang's 74 hits, 48.6 percent have been extra-base hits. If he can line up an offering from Gio Gonzalez, there's a realistic chance that he can drive it for a double or better; Gonzalez has given up 21 extra-base hits in his last 10 appearances.
Seager doesn't have a hit in his last three games but he does have the third highest OPS vs. RHPs among qualified third baseman -- .940. The Twins' SP Kyle Gibson has a 5.83 ERA over his last 10 starts. With most of the elite 3B options struggling Seager offers contrarian upside at a more palatable price. DFSers can deploy him in GPP lineups.
Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | VALUE | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
Jose Reyes (NY) | vs. PHI | 6 |
Maikel Franco (PHI) | at NYM | 6 |
Donovan Solano (NYY) | at TOR | 5 |
On Wednesday, Solano hit a home run and double. He's not likely to be a source of power, as the HR was only his ninth in 1158 career PAs, but he's still very cheap and looks like he might have a regular role down the stretch. The Yankees take on Francisco Liriano, who has a 5.36 ERA over his last 10 starts; the matchup and price gives Solano a realistic shot at cash-game value.
Nothing to See Here
NAME | VALUE | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
Eugenio Suarez (CIN) | at MIL | 3 |
Hernan Perez (MIL) | vs. CIN | 2 |
Cheslor Cuthbert (KC) | at DET | 2 |
Perez is hitting just .184 over his last 10 games with zero walks. He ranks sixth in stolen bases with 31 but only has one SB since September 9. He only has a .705 OPS versus RHPs anyway, so don't expect him to hit his way out of his slump on Friday. As the saying goes: you can't steal first base.
