Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP
Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Ryon Healy (OAK) | at SEA | 8 |
Jonathan Villar (MIL) | at COL | 8 |
Justin Turner (LAD) | at SF | 8 |
Healy is 10-for-19 with four RBIs and four runs scored in his past five games. He's been a steady stream of DFS value late in the season, and that fact doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon.
Villar stands alone as a strong value play among the elite tier of third basemen. His stolen base potential and the benefits of Coors Field separate him from the other top-tier options. Josh Donaldson, Nolan Arenado, and Kris Bryant are available, but none of the three are on a streak that would warrant paying up for them.
Turner has notched multi-hit efforts in four of his past five games. He's also crossed home plate six times in that five-game span.
Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Jose Reyes (NYM) | at PHI | 7 |
Jhonny Peralta (STL) | vs. PIT | 6 |
Todd Frazier (CWS) | vs. MIN | 5 |
Reyes has a base hit in eight of his past nine and a double in three of his past four. His stolen base ability makes him a legitimate cash game option.
Peralta comes at an affordable price and has hit .412 in his past 10 games. Like Reyes, he makes up for his lack of power with a steady bat. Unfortunately, he won't be stealing a base anytime soon.
Frazier's been hot of late, but a home matchup against LHP Hector Santiago actually works against the Chicago slugger. Frazier has hit a meager .182 with a lone homer in 44 at-bats against lefties at home this season. His high-level salary is a risky investment with those numbers in mind.
Nothing to See Here
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Yuli Gurriel (HOU) | at LAA | 4 |
Jung Ho Kang (PIT) | at STL | 4 |
Travis Shaw (BOS) | vs. TOR | 3 |
Gurriel is still extremely cheap despite his reputation as a strong hitter from his days in Cuba. But in his last 40 at-bats, the Cuban export has hit just .125 with one extra-base hit. Gurriel will save you some cash, but he seems more likely to offer an absolute zero than anything else right now.
