Vin Scully's best moments from his final Dodger Stadium series

It's only fitting that Vin Scully's farewell weekend at Dodger Stadium felt like it was lifted right from a Hollywood script.

Though the ever-modest Scully often seemed embarrassed by all the attention, the Dodgers and the entire city of Los Angeles - from celebrities to baseball legends to generations of fans - gave their beloved announcer a send-off to remember, filled with laughter, tears, joy, and of course, one last memorable call.

Before Scully closes out his incredible 67-year career in San Francisco this weekend, here's a look back at some of the great moments from what was truly Vin's weekend.

A send-off from the stars

Friday night's ceremony was a star-studded affair, if there ever was one. Perhaps the top moment came from actor Kevin Costner - no stranger to memorable baseball speeches - who moved everyone to tears discussing Scully's impact on fans everywhere. Dodgers legend Sandy Koufax also brought down the house with his memories, while Scully received several gifts, including the key to Los Angeles from mayor Eric Garcetti, and a future spot in the Dodgers Ring of Honor.

'Aw, come on, it's just me!'

Even on his own night, Scully tried to dim the applause. His gracious speech was - in his typical style - thankful, eloquent, and oh so modest. You've probably already finished the first box of tissues thanks to Costner, so go grab another before watching this.

Tip of the cap

Dodgers players waved to Scully during their first at-bats Sunday, which naturally gave us one more "Aw, shucks" moment from the modest broadcaster.

Remembering Jose Fernandez

Over the past 67 years, Scully has been a voice of comfort to baseball fans everywhere - regardless of rooting interest - during the worst of times. On Sunday - a day that shook the baseball world to its core - he was there for us again. Scully's tribute to Jose Fernandez, who was tragically killed in a boating accident earlier that morning, was a poignant and beautiful remembrance. Somehow, he's always able to find the right words.

One last walk-off

Did you really think the Dodgers would let Scully go out with a loss? His final call at Dodger Stadium turned out to be an extra-inning, division-clinching walk-off homer by Charlie Culberson, giving us one last memorable moment attached to Vin's voice forever.

'The wind beneath my wings'

After giving one more moving address - as players, fans, and even the press box saluted - Scully said farewell to Dodger Stadium by playing a recording of him singing "Wind Beneath My Wings" he'd made for his wife. By the end, when the Dodgers resumed celebrating their division title, there wasn't a single dry eye in the house.

Off to celebrate

Hey, Vin's a part of the Dodgers. He gets to celebrate too. And the 88-year-old Scully sure knows how to party, donning a pair of ski goggles in the Dodgers clubhouse during the champagne celebrations.
