Report: Bucks, Kings discussed trade involving McLemore, Monroe, MCW
The Milwaukee Bucks have a void at shooting guard in their starting lineup, and as such appear willing to take a chance on a young Sacramento Kings wing under the right circumstances.
With Khris Middleton out of action for six months after surgery to repair his left hamstring, Bucks management reached out to the Kings concerning a potential trade for 23-year-old Ben McLemore, sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe.
The Bucks are reportedly willing to move one of Greg Monroe or former Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams in the right deal.
The Monroe era in Milwaukee feels destined to end sooner rather than later, as his name was linked to a number of trade rumors throughout the summer after his first season with the franchise. Recently, reports emerged about a package with the Charlotte Hornets that would bring Jeremy Lamb and Spencer Hawes to the roster in exchange for the 6-foot-11 big man.
Head coach Jason Kidd indicated Monroe will likely serve as the team's sixth man for the 2016-17 campaign after he started 67 of 79 appearances a season ago.
His defense - which has never been good to begin with - may have played a part in his apparent demotion, as the Bucks allowed 4.3 more points per 100 possessions with Monroe on the floor.
McLemore has been just as much of a disappointment in Sacramento, coming off his worst stretch to date after putting up 7.8 points on 42.9 percent shooting, along with 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He does have a great deal of experience working with starting units, though, and would be an upgrade over one of Milwaukee's current options in Rashad Vaughn.
