Marc DesRosiers-USA TODAY Sports
Auston Matthews is on the board. It took eight minutes. And one shot.
The first overall pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs scored the first goal of his NHL career - and the first of the 2016-17 season - in the first period against the Ottawa Senators.
It's the 12th time a first overall pick scored in his first NHL game.
The goal was assisted by fellow rookies William Nylander and Zach Hyman.
