McNabb recommends Cowboys trade Romo, Bryant

The Ezekiel Elliott-Dak Prescott hype train is running full speed ahead for the Dallas Cowboys, and Donovan McNabb is aboard.

Appearing on "Mike and Mike," the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback suggested that his former division rivals should move on from their 36-year-old (supposedly starting) quarterback, along with their star receiver.

"You may want to think about trading Tony Romo and Dez Bryant going forward. Because this is a young team that's all fallen behind their young talent, meaning Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott," McNabb told the show, according to CBS Sports' Will Brinson. "Think about this: Going into the draft - their defense has been playing outstanding - going into the draft, draft a pretty good wide receiver in the second round, go after a defensive player in the first round."

McNabb, who dealt with the antics of diva receiver Terrell Owens during his career, says the Cowboys should chase the "three-headed monster" model, but not with Bryant, who he labeled a "distraction."

The former quarterback said the combination of Terrence Williams, Cole Beasley, and a proposed second-round receiver should be enough to replace the All-Pro wideout.
