Watch: Russell muscles go-ahead 2-run HR off Blanton

Addison Russell is awake, everyone.

The 22-year-old Chicago Cubs shortstop - who broke out of a postseason slump by hammering a home run in Wednesday's Game 4 - gave his club a 3-1 lead in Game 5 with a long two-run homer off Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Joe Blanton in the sixth.

His dinger was celebrated in interesting fashion, too.

With the blast, Russell became the second-youngest shortstop in postseason history to homer in consecutive games. Corey Seager is the youngest, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Russell coming to life is a major boon for the Cubs, as the youngster was a major source of offense for the team during the regular season, driving in 95 runs, which led all National League shortstops.
