Kadri levels Daniel Sedin with blindside hit, answers to Hansen
It was a hectic few seconds in Toronto on Saturday night.
Following Morgan Rielly's heavy, open-ice hit on Jannik Hansen midway through the third period, Nazem Kadri caught Daniel Sedin with a blindside check as the Vancouver Canucks forward was in the midst of firing a shot over the glove of Frederik Andersen.
In reaction to the hit, Hansen dropped the gloves with Kadri.
In all, the play saw Kadri assessed a five-minute major for fighting and a major for charging, while Hansen was given a major for fighting, two minutes for instigating, and a game misconduct.
Sedin immediately left the ice to be checked by medical staff, but made a prompt return.
With three prior suspensions, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, Kadri can likely expect another call from the NHL Department of Player Safety.
