Wall fined $25K for incident with referee
Frustrations boiled over for John Wall on Monday night, and in response the NBA lightened his wallet some on Wednesday, as the Washington Wizards point guard was fined $25,000 for an "inappropriate interaction" with referee Marc Davis.
Wall was ejected in the dying seconds of his team's loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday night after receiving his second technical foul. Davis said he issued the second tech because Wall had bumped him, then responded to a warning with vulgar language.
"He already received his first technical foul," Davis explained after the game. "After granting the team a timeout, I felt there was contact and he bumped me. I wasn't certain of his intent. I told him to watch himself. He looked over his shoulder and used vulgarity and inappropriate language and was ejected on his second technical foul."
Contributing to Wall's fine, along with his interaction with Davis, was his "failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his ejection."
