Bucks' Middleton tore hamstring completely off bone
Khris Middleton blew out his left hamstring in late September and expected his season with the Milwaukee Bucks to be over before it even began. Initial reports indicated he'd be sidelined for about six months with the injury, and it seems the extent of what happened to the 25-year-old swingman is rather gruesome.
According to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times, Middleton actually tore his hamstring completely off the bone.
"That's a pretty rare injury; that's unusual," a league official told Woelfel.
Middleton slipped on a wet spot on the court during an informal workout and required surgery. Two months later, Middleton is working out on the court, though he's not running or cutting.
"I've been doing some shooting; I'm just trying to get back into a little shooting form," Middleton said. "I'm doing a lot of mid-range shooting, maybe with one or two dribbles. I'm just trying to move around. Nothing strenuous."
At the six-month mark, Middleton could be on track for about 13 of the team's regular-season games, though he still doesn't have a return date in mind.
"I think I'll be back at some point this season," Middleton said. "When? I just don't know yet."
