G Jake Allen
Allen has been a disappointment. His .905 save percentage is well below the .913 and .920 rates from his first two seasons as the team's number one. It's been worse since the start of December, going 5-5-0 with an .897 save percentage. He's the only realistic option on the roster, so owners will have to ride it out. Grade: C
RW Vladimir Tarasenko
Tarasenko has been even better than expected. He is on pace to reach point-per-game status for the first time, and is almost assured of notching a career high in assists. Anyone who landed him in the first round of drafts found an excellent anchor to build around. Grade: A
LW Jaden Schwartz
After only playing 33 games in 2015-16, Schwartz missed the start of the season leading to speculation if he'd ever be able to live up to the 63-point campaign in 2014-15. He's done well enough. He's second on the Blues with 12 goals, and is third with 21 points. His injury concern dropped his value, and he's been a fine depth option. Grade: B
C Paul Stastny
Stastny is quietly productive without being a standout. It's the story of his career. He put up great numbers in his early Avalanche seasons, but maintains usefulness in a pinch. Despite this, he's poised to set a low in points barring a second-half surge, which seems unlikely. Grade: C+
C Robby Fabbri
The sophomore has made slight improvements from his rookie campaign, but he hasn't fully taken off. He's seen an uptick in scoring in 13 December games with six goals and seven assists. The potential is there, and he's shown it in bursts, but consistency has yet to take hold. Don't be shocked if Fabbri is on the wire. Grade: B
LW David Perron
The journeyman returned to the Blues this year and has had success in bursts. Perron had an eight-game scoring streak in November and immediately followed it up by going point-less in the team's next eight. He's injury replacement filler who is capable of the occasional big game. Grade: C
LW/RW Alex Steen
The season hasn't been too kind to Steen. While his 15 assists are solid, his three goals are a massive letdown. The only reason he's owned in the vast majority of fantasy leagues is because of name recognition and a hope that his 6.8 shooting percentage turns around. It could, but his lack of goal-scoring can only be tolerated for so long. Grade: C
D Alex Pietrangelo
Seven goals is solid production from the blueline, but isn't groundbreaking. Pietrangelo does block a fair amount of shots, leading the team, and gains value in leagues that tally them. He's been fine if unspectacular, though he shouldn't wind up on waivers. Grade: B
D Kevin Shattenkirk
Despite a minus rating, par for the course for much of the team, Shattenkirk makes up for it by being second on the team in scoring. His shooting percentage is the highest it's ever been, so some correction is expected, but he should finish right around his career averages, if not exceeding them.
Grade: A-
Player to watch - RW Nail Yakupov
By no means is Yakupov a guarantee to break out, especially if he continues to be a healthy scratch. He's yet to overcome the label of colossal bust that he gained through four seasons in Edmonton. His ice time is low and he's not getting power-play time. It might take an injury to get him into the lineup regularly, but if his situation changes he's worth keeping an eye on.
