Report: Trade partners turned off by Noel's work habits
Trade rumors have circled above Nerlens Noel's head for months, but the beleaguered center has remained in Philadelphia.
Noel publicly slammed the 76ers' flawed roster construction, and is reportedly seeking a trade. But suitors have been turned off by red flags in his scouting report, as Adrian Wojnarowski reported during a recent episode of the Vertical Podcast with Woj.
"Nerlens Noel in Philly, the research teams have done on him is not good. They don’t get good reports back on their intel, how he’s carried himself there, of his habits. It’s not a great return. There are teams willing to do the deal and bring him in, but they don’t want to give up much," Wojnarowski said.
To make matters worse, Noel has also struggled to stay healthy early in his career. A knee injury forced him to miss his entire rookie campaign, and various other knee problems have continued to hamper him in subsequent seasons.
Noel finally recovered from offseason knee surgery last week to make his season debut, but was forced back to the sidelines after 10 minutes.
All that being said, Noel has proven to be a tantalizing talent when healthy. He holds averages of 10.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.7 blocks across 143 career games while flashing signs of developing into a dominant defender.
The 22-year-old is slated to become a restricted free agent this summer.
