Raiders clinch 1st playoff berth since 2002

The Oakland Raiders clinched their first postseason berth since 2002 with a 19-16 victory over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.

The win improved the Raiders' record to 11-3 and guaranteed they will earn, at least, a wild-card spot.

The Raiders also leaped into the AFC's second seed, at least temporarily. They currently own a one-game lead in the AFC West, after the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Tennessee Titans earlier in the day. Those results give the Raiders the second-best record in the conference and dropped the Chiefs to the fifth seed.

The Raiders will cement their playoff seeding with their final two games, at home against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday and on the road against the Denver Broncos in Week 17. The Chiefs will play the Broncos next week and the San Diego Chargers in the final week of the regular season.
